The mission of the Fire Department is to protect the lives and property of all residents, businesses and the general public within the city limits of Highland Heights. The department will also deliver assistance to all cities and villages to which our city relies on for like assistance. The delivery of all services will be consistent with the highest quality at the lowest cost to residents.
Our personnel are crossed trained as firefighters and paramedics, providing both fire suppression and emergency medical services within the community and region. Under the medical direction of University Hospitals Cleveland, our members provide advanced pre-hospital emergency medical services.
Under the leadership of Fire Chief William Turner and Assistant Chief William Bernhard, the department has been recognized by the American Heart Association and awarded the Mission Lifeline Gold Plus award for our prehospital care and the department has been assigned an ISO Class II from the Insurance Services Office.
With an ever-changing world, challenges and hazards facing the fire service today, our dedicated and highly trained staff will continue to prepare for, and provide, the services the community expects and deserves.
