Trash Containers & Garbage Bags

The city has a contract with Kimble Recycling and Disposal, Inc. for a semi-automated collection service. Each household within the City of Highland Heights has been issued a set of two, wheeled containers, one (dark green) for solid waste and one (bright green) for recycling.

All containers are registered by serial number and address and will remain the property of Kimble.

Trash & Recyclable Materials

Solid Waste:
  • All solid waste should be placed in the dark green wheeled container provided to your residence by Kimble.
  • When the container is full, residents may place additional solid waste and or rubbish in plastic bags and/or containers weighing no more than 40 pounds each, next to the solid waste container for pick-up.
  • Bulky waste - Kimble will collect bulky waste set out on the curb. Bulky waste is defined as any solid waste material that is either, by weight or by volume, too large to be contained in the waste cart. Items may include, but are not limited to, stoves, refrigerators, water tanks, washing machines, furniture, mattresses, and other household items and appliances.
  • All recyclables should be placed loose and commingled in the bright green, wheeled container provided to your residence by Kimble.

Hazardous Waste
  • Please keep in mind if it can’t go on the curb or in your recycling bin, the city holds special collection days and round-ups for many items, such as hazardous wastes like oil-based paint or old computers. Please check the Round Up Program tab on the left for dates and times, or the various program tabs with information about collection items.

Trash Placement

Carts should be placed on your tree lawn or driveway within 2 to 3 feet of the street. The wheels and the hinge should face the sidewalk and the open end of the lid should face the street.
