CITY OF HIGHLAND HEIGHTS

MINUTES OF A SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING

HELD:  APRIL 21, 2009

President of Council Mills presiding.

PRESENT:      Mayor Coleman; Councilmen Anderson, Hargate, Legan, Lombardo, Mills, Murphy, Pilla; Clerk of Council Buchak; Fire Chief Turner, Police Chief Cook; Service Director Evans; City Engineer Blackley; Finance Director Ianiro; Law Director Paluf.

Council President Mills announced that due to the number of items on the agenda for the Committee of the Whole, Council will conduct the Special Meeting first and then hold the Committee of the Whole.

This special meeting has been called for consideration of the following:

1. Motion to adjourn into Executive Session to discuss appointment of City Engineer.

2. Appointment of City Engineer

MOTION TO ADJOURN INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION:   A motion was made by Mr. Anderson to adjourn into Executive Session to discuss the appointment of a City Engineer in accordance with Section 4.05 of the Charter of the City of Highland Heights and Section 121.22(g) of the Ohio Revised Code; seconded by Mrs. Murphy.  Roll call on the motion:  Ayes all; motion carried.  Council adjourned at 7:35 p.m. p.m. and reconvened at 8:03 p.m.

APPOINTMENT OF CITY ENGINEER -- CONTINUED TO 4/28/09 REGULAR MEETING:  A motion was made by Mr. Anderson to continue the matter of the confirmation of the Mayor's appointment of a City Engineer to the Regular Meeting of April 28, 2009; seconded by Mr. Pilla.  Ayes all; motion carried.

ADJOURNMENT:   A motion was made by Mr. Pilla and seconded by Mr. Lombardo to adjourn the meeting.  Said meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
