Community Center
The Community Center provides a convenient space for weddings, birthdays, graduation parties, events and community meetings year-round. City residents and businesses may reserve the Buckeye Room (72 guest capacity) or the Highland Room (200 guest capacity) for a rental fee. Both party rooms have access to the Center’s kitchen. Many Highland Heights civic and community groups use the Center to host monthly or weekly meetings.

Rental Fees and Information
Community Center Features
The Community Center has two rooms and a kitchen, which is open
to both party rooms.
You may use a licensed caterer of your choice or supply food
yourself. The kitchen includes:
- Large double oven
- Stove
- Two large refrigerators
- Freezer
- Convection oven
- Dishwasher
- Coffee makers
The Center provides trash cans, plastic garbage bags and ice. Renters should bring any other needed supplies. Dishes, utensils and cleaning supplies are NOT provided.
The
Community Center Coordinator will call you the Monday before your event to
confirm table set-up. The custodian will set up tables and chairs. At
the end of your event, the custodian will inspect the rented area for any
damage before you sign a sign out form. The custodian also takes down
tables and chairs and sweeps and mops the floor at the end of the event.
Alcoholic Beverages and Police Security
If you are having a high school graduation party or a wedding reception where
you are serving alcoholic beverages of any kind, you must have a police officer
present. The Community Center Coordinator will arrange for a Highland Heights
Police officer to be present during your event. Renters are responsible to
pay the officer at the end of the evening—the police officer rate is $17.00
per hour, payable by check or cash.
Highland Room (200 guests)
Ideal for a larger event, the Highland Room seats 200 at round
tables (8 guests to a table) with a small area for dancing and a DJ or small
band. This room includes a bar area with an ice machine and coolers. Rectangular
tables are available for food, gifts, beverages, etc.
The Buckeye Room (72 guests)
The Buckeye Room seats 72 guests at round tables (8 guests to
a table).
Rental Fees
- Rooms are rented by blocks of time (blocks of time include set-up, party, and clean-up).
- A $75.00 security deposit is required when renting either room at the Center, which is refundable if you stay within the contract hours and there is no damage to the Center.
- The rental fee is due at least two weeks before your event.

$75.00 Security Deposit Check
This deposit must be submitted when you come to City Hall to
sign the rental application to use the Center. The check must show
your City of Highland Heights address. The deposit is refundable as
long as you stay within the contract hours and there is no damage to the
Center. The City’s Finance Department will mail you a reimbursement check
approximately two weeks after your event. If there are any damages to the
facility, you will be notified and the amount of the repair will be deducted
from your security deposit. Your rental fee is due at least two weeks before
the event. The date will be listed on your rental application.
Community Center Rules
- The renter must be a City of Highland Heights resident, 21 years or older.
- The renter must sign the rental application and leave a $75.00 security deposit.
- The renter must be present at the event.
- Rent must be paid at least two weeks before the event.
- The rented rooms shall be cleaned and vacated by the end of the scheduled hours of access printed on the application. If the event extends past the scheduled ending time, $25.00 per each additional hour (or any part of the hour) over the scheduled ending time, will be deducted from the $75.00 security deposit.
- Any right or privilege granted to any person(s), or organization to use the Community Center or any part thereof, is personal and exclusive and shall not be transferable to any other person(s) or organization.
- Reservations cancelled less than seven (7) days prior to the event are subject to a twenty-five ($25.00) cancellation fee.
- The Community Center closes at 11:00 p.m., Sunday through Thursday and 12:30 a.m., Friday and Saturday. Serving of alcoholic beverages and DJ/band music is to stop at 12:00 midnight on Friday and Saturday.
- The renter will review, sign, and abide with items on the SIGN IN/OUT FORM, which will be reviewed at the time of signing the rental application.
- The renter is responsible for leaving the Community Center in the condition in which it was found.
- The cost of repairing any damage to the facility or its contents will be charged directly to the renter in occupancy at the time of damage.
- Smoking is not permitted in the Community Center.
- Animals are not permitted in the Community Center building; except service/aid dogs.
- The use of confetti is prohibited. Loss of security deposit may result if confetti is used.
- The use of lit candles is prohibited. Loss of security deposit may result if lit candles are used.
- The use of materials on the walls, floors, windows is prohibited unless permitted by the Community Center Coordinator prior to the event.
- The use of double-sided tape is prohibited. Loss of security deposit may result if double-sided tape is used.
- Removable tape may be used on the metal door frames or on the metal ceiling tile grids; however, tape of any kind MAY NOT BE USED ON THE ACTUAL CEILING TILES.
- Decorations may not be secured to the ceiling by lifting the ceiling tiles/grids.
- All furniture and furnishings are the property of the City and are not to be removed from the Community Center building. No furniture or special equipment may be brought into the Community Center without prior approval of the Community Center Coordinator.
- Police services are required at wedding receptions and graduation parties when any alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, etc.) will be served. The Coordinator will arrange for a police officer. The renter is responsible for paying for such services when they are rendered. The police must be on duty from the starting time of the event until the close of the event.
- The renter must obtain a liquor permit, (F or F-2), from the State, if alcohol is being served at an event where admission tickets have been sold.
- “Bring your own bottle” parties are prohibited.
- Attendance at a private engagement must be by invitation only. Residents or businesses cannot sell tickets at the door for an event.
- Children at parties are not permitted to toss balls and items inside the facility. Children are to be supervised and are not to be in rooms that have not been rented for the event.
- All youth functions must have adult supervision.
- Children five years of age and under must have 1 adult per 5 children
- 5 - 10 years old – 1 adult per 10 children
- 10-15 years old – 1 adult per 15 children
- 15-20 years old – 1 adult per 20 children.
- Use of a fog or smoke machine is prohibited. Balls and blow up bats may not be given away as prizes.
- CATERERS: The renter is responsible for the caterer. The caterer must adhere to all the rules set by the Community Center. The renter is responsible for supplying the caterer with a copy of KITCHEN RULES.
- Refreshments may be served in individual meeting rooms without the use of the kitchen.
