Building Department

Responsibilities

The City's Building Department is responsible for all commercial and residential construction as well as all building, zoning and regulatory matters. State-certified inspectors review all commercial or residential building plans, projects and construction elements, providing building permits and zoning approvals in an efficient and effective manner.

Building Contractors and Permits

The City of Highland Heights utilizes Franklin Information Systems, Inc. to track and maintain building and contractor permitting information. Please be advised that permits are required for most home repairs and improvements. In addition, all contractors must be registered with the City of Highland Heights in order to do business within the city.
